Upcoming Conferences Leadership = Challenge. Choice. Change Coming this Fall 2007, Ottawa Leadership is both a role and a responsibility. It poses new challenges, it brings change and, above all, it confronts us with choices. Stepping into a leadership position forces all of us to look at ourselves, our work and our relationships, with new eyes. Research makes clear that quality leadership matters: Through a combination of presentation, dialogue and self-assessment tools, this conference offers new insights, new skills and new frameworks for thinking about yourself and your role as leader in times of change. This conference is for those who want to know more about the forces that affect their performance as a leader, for those stepping into a leadership position, for those interested in the latest thinking on leadership in today's fast-paced environment. The speakers are knowledgeable and have extensive experience helping organizations with both strategic planning and developing and cultivating effective transformational leadership. I also enjoyed meeting people from a wide variety of sectors......both private and publicly funded organizations. It's interesting how there are very similar themes related to leadership and vision that cross the sectors. The workshop on Inspiring Teams Toward Excellence has given me some great ideas to better manage my team. I feel more comfortable that my instincts are good and I can trust them. I have concrete ideas/examples to try. Leadership = Challenge. Change. Choice. November 9, 2005, Ottawa Quotables It was refreshing to hear the experiences of the other attendees and understand the problems that others have encountered. The fine details of the art of leadership ring true for me. I liked the format having larger group reconnect through the day is good cohesive, energizing, opportunities to share. Liked the interactive sessions/workshops and sharing of ideas within the groups. Whether it is a refresher or new info, workshops allow professionals to self-reflect and re-motivate. I learned more about time management in 1.5 hours than in my entire working career. Finally someone knew how to answer my question. People skills are the hardest, as each individual is... well... individual. The plenary session worked well at synthesizing all four workshops in a creative way. There are tools to try out and see what works well for my work environment. Women and Leadership These conferences are designed to present critical management and thinking skills to women who work in and/or aspire to positions of leadership. Today, women are challenged to do more with less, adapt quickly to changing circumstances and find time to balance the demands of their families, workplaces and communities. Exhaustion, discouragement and a feeling of being on the edge can be frequent experiences as we juggle our multiple roles and responsibilities. This one-day conference on leadership is designed to provide a framework for understanding and assessing your personal leadership style based on the Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership as researched by James M. Kouzes and Barry Z. Posner. This is your opportunity to step out of your daily schedule and join with other women living similar challenges. This is your chance to embrace effective strategies for your growth and development as a leader. Quotables This conference was a terrific opportunity for me to step back and examine my leadership skills in the context of whats needed in todays business world. The content was full of the latest research and resources. The leaders were knowledgeable, interactive and we had fun! A great investment! Speakers were sincere and enthusiastic. Invited participation. Excellent material! The Five Practices are incredible. They will apply to my whole life. I had the pleasure of attending the first Women and Leadership Conference last year. This conference provided me with a greater insight of who I am and the potential within me. I am sure that every woman present felt proud to be part of this day of excellence. Practical, accessible and scientific! This course on leadership experientially demonstrates the strength and efficacy of women in relation. It is said that great minds think alike. This conference proved they dont; they challenge and excite. Finding Solutions Conference April 8, 2005, Ottawa There is a growing awareness that bringing vitality into the workplace means placing a greater emphasis on the importance of relationships among those who work within the organization itself. This awareness is rooted in empirical evidence which indicates that healthy workplace relationships are key to productivity, performance, and long term organizational success. The research is clear:
Quotables Definitely will use the tools shared in the workshops. Workshops reinforced and energized me. Congratulations on a great conference. Excellent workshops I enjoyed the wonderful attitude of the presenters thoroughly enjoyed each one of you. The conference helped me see an old situation in a new light. Stressfree. Well organized. I would come back and do it again. Innovative ideas. I enjoyed everything about the conference quality of the presenters, subject matter, food/drink, location. © 2008 Adlerian Counselling and Consulting Group Inc. | Privacy Policy |
