Marion BallaM.Ed., M.S.W., R.S.W.
Marion Balla has been involved in the counselling and consulting field since 1969. She has completed both a Master in Education (Counselling) and a Master in Social Work (Direct Intervention). Marion is President of The Adlerian Counselling and Consulting Group where she offers individual, couple and family therapy. As a trainer, she has presented a variety of workshops for workers in the mental health and social services fields; hospitals, municipal, provincial and federal government departments (i.e., Citizenship and Immigration, Auditor General, Solicitor General, Justice, National Parole Board, National Defense, Transport, Industry Canada, Health Canada, Canada Revenue Agency and Canada Customs Agency) focusing on team building, communication skills, conflict resolution and principles of progressive leadership. Marion has delivered keynote addresses and workshops on leadership at national and international conferences.
Marion has a strong commitment to building a health community by volunteering her time as a Board member of the YM-YWCA and the United Way.
In March of 1997, Marion was named the winner of the 1996 Businesswomans Achievement Award, sponsored by the Womans Business Network Association and donated by The Ottawa Citizen. In November of 1997, Marion received the Parent Education Award in recognition of her important contribution towards increasing the awareness of education for parents and enriching family life.
